Honey
has medicinal properties that have been used for healing purposes for centuries. However, there is a particular type of honey
indigenous to New Zealand that seems to have more healing properties than any
other type of honey in the world. It’s
called Manuka Honey and it’s amazing.
This type of honey was virtually unknown in the United States until
about a decade ago when its many medical uses started to swarm the
internet. Ten years later, it has become
and international phenomenon.
Even
though many people in the U.S. still don’t know what Manuka honey is, it has
become a hot commodity among health-conscious consumers in search of natural
alternatives to pharmacological options.
It’s now being used as a functional ingredient in skin care products as
well as being ingested for internal health benefits. Because this market is not yet saturated,
there is a lot of room for it to grow within the medical and skin care
industries. Manuka honey could very well
possibly be the next big thing in natural health care.
Many
manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon and including this miracle
ingredient in their products. Backed by
clinical trials and scientific and anecdotal evidence, this ingredient has the
ability to treat conditions such as stomach ulcers, gastritis and other gastrointestinal
disorders, ulcerative colitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, strep throat, gum
disease, infected wounds and the list goes on and on.
Among
its many accolades is its ability to safely and naturally eradicate MRSA and
other infections caused by antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria. Conditions such as these are claiming the
lives of thousands each year and have become a massive health concern given the
fact that traditional forms of medicine have been deemed ineffective.
